Retreat House is an ancient colonial property dating back to when the French settled the St. Vincent and The Grenadines chain of islands a few hundred years ago. Not long ago it has been renovated into one of the most magnificent and prominent villas on the island.
This house has been designed and re-built by one of the most renowned architects around who has for many affluent clients and celebs on Bequia’s famous sister island of Mustique. Built to keep the original foundations and walls intact it has been designed to keep a cool and calm atmosphere with a perfect sense of ancient colonial style mixed with a modern touch of simplicity.
The house sits on what is arguably the grandest lot on the Western part of the island. This is due to the fact that it is perched on a cliff overlooking Admiralty Bay, and framed by two of the best beaches on Bequia, namely Princess Margaret and Lower Bay. Whilst the house has over 180 degree views overlooking the sea, the beaches which are only a few footsteps away, are also known to be the best on the island for swimming and socialising.
The house has been built with the highest quality materials sourced both locally and internationally. The infinity pool overlooks the entire length of Lower bay and the hardwood gazebo facing Princess Margaret beach is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Unfortunately, the owner Derek Coates (who also owned a large international company) passed away, hence this beautiful property is back on the market! Derek, a dear friend, has been in touch with us for years before he finally made it to the island.
